Time is at a major premium for me these days, and since the themes were similar I made this for both today's and last week's MIX challenges. Music is definitely my peaceful place and I don't have nearly enough time for it these days.
I stencilled a piece with three different colours of stencil butter. Originally I also stencilled a sunray background to combine with it, but it was a bit overpowering with the tree, so it's set aside for something else. Instead I just pulled out some paper that would do for a sky background, and embossed it with a cloud folder from Taylored Expressions after stamping the sentiment. I layered a couple of strips from my stencilled piece for the foreground. The tree was cut from watercolour paper and painted brown, then I added green Liquid Pearls to the leaves and coloured the music notes with a black sparkle pen. I added some white pen and clear Stickles to the clouds.
I finished it off with a rabbit family since it seemed to need something else in the foreground. Yes, it's Easter - but they always remind of when my mother was dying and I stayed in a church/guesthouse near the hospital. Sitting in the kitchen I would always see rabbits in the driveway and on the lawn of the garden in the next house.

Oh my Sabrina , where to start. Empathy for the time near the hospital. And the card is just such an interpretation of it all. So creative with your music tree and how nature has its own music and the bunnies drawn to it. Wow. Now that blesses my heart today! Tfs and God Bless

A very poignant, creative piece, Sabrina....so lovely. There is a short documentary that I think you'd enjoy, won the Oscar for best short doc...called The Last Repair Shop. It's about a repair shop for all of the musical instruments in the Los Angeles school system. Very sweet. Music saves lives.

A very special card and beautiful, also. The musical note on the tree is so expected from you because I know you love music and that is such a special reason to use the rabbits. They look as if they were meant to be there.

Life can get so hectic can’t it? Music brings me lots of joy. This morning I woke up with a melody by Haydn in my head. Thanks for playing along with my challenge. Blessings.

Wow, Sabrina, this is so cool and artsy. Great idea on the sky and grass. The rabbits are super cute and how sweet they are linked to memories as well.
Hoping you get some time for your music soon too.
Happy Easter.
Many hugz
