Well, this Dird was supposed to be my best one...let's just call it an experiment. I couldn't even take a good photo of it.
I love the beak and the eyes. The wings are okay. The tail is passable. But I just couldn't get him to sit right. He's looking down--looking for worms, I guess.

I think this one looks fabulous - the eye, the 3D beak, the beautiful wing, the fun tail. I didn't have trouble with mine sitting right but I don't know how many times I've had centre-of-gravity problems when adding hanging loops to knitted birds etc, so I do understand totally.

Difficult to find the center, and I think that if you had lifted the wings a bit less it would be better but not sure at all, it's a wonderful Dird and give him a worm in his beak, that would be perfect!!
