Of course, I would find a RED dress!!!!! To simulate the dress, I used the SU subtle ef. For her gold necklace I heat embossed the greeting and the buttons are the cake!
I had to heat embosse twice, I think either my power is too old or it was the texture from the ef. I stamped & colored the cake with Prismapencils. I used the medium sized oval punch for the plate & the cake has pop dots at the bottom only. I wanted it to look like the cake was 'standing' on the plate.

You nailed the red dress with that textured bg. When I saw your title, I was thinking of Christmas fruit cake which I LOVE (especially the Corsicana Brand from here in Texas!) But 'fresh fruit on top cake' works for me, too and is a refreshing spring treat. Your gold embossing turned out fine - I would never have known it was a problem if you hadn't mentioned it so well done on the fix!
