A birthday card for a friend who loves flowers and birds maybe even more than I do.
To start this card, I embossed the brick bg and then very slightly swiped down with the DI. I intended to use the entire piece, but it overwhelmed the die cuts so I cut it down a bit and mounted on white cs and then to the card base. I die cut the wreath from a MFT stamp set. The flowers on that stemp were too small for what I wanted, but it gave me a nice base to attached my flowers. I did color the base in greens and tried to make it look like leaves because I knew parts would show through. And though it is almost entirely covered, I was glad I did this extra step because bits and pieces did show through. Die cut, colored, assembled and glued the other pieces. Added Stickles to the flower centers.
Spring is just beginning to spring here and the birds are returning to our yard. We do have a few year-round birds, but even here in Sunny So Calif many of the birds we enjoy leave in the winter and come back around now. I hope you are enjoying the day and any visitors you get this time of year too -- birds or otherwise. TFL

Oh, this is gorgeous. I like how you used different dies to get your bits and pieces and the wonderful things you used. You certainly created an awesome card. I have used that same brick embossing folder a few times recently, also. Like your friend, I love birds and flowers.

Fabulous design! The brick BG with the rustic look is fantastic. I love the die-cut wreath. The star, the hummingbird is beautifully colored...
