And I saw that the most recent Mix challenge called for âsomething fishyâ so I decided to make a mixed media underwater background. On a piece of white card stock, I swiped distress inks (Stormy Sky, Tumbled Glass, Faded Denim) and spritzed them a little to activate. After they were dry, I grabbed an irregular net looking stencil and used Starry Sky ink to stencil in a few places. Then I did it again with Versamark embossing ink and heat embossed with Egyptian Gold powder. I cut out a rectangle from the finished piece.
I covered a blank premade card front with light blue mulberry paper and glued the mixed media undersea piece on top. I die cut the octopus from a couple of different shades of blue cardstock and glued together. I swiped with a little ink for dimension, then attached to the card front with foam tape. I decided not to add a sentiment, and just use as a blank notecard.
After I finished I realized this also works for the most recent CAS challenge, for a monochromatic card so I added that as well.
Congrats to AndreaLove, I hope it was a fabulous week!
