Today Kia found us a delightful site with much inspiration. I chose her book cover-https://www.pinterest.ca/pin/273101164890771510/
Sketched the leaves, applied masking fluid to all the sketching. I wanted it all to stay white. Painted the background with the blue watercolor and added splatters. Removed the masking fluid. My sentiment was written on vellum. Trying to learn modern calligraphy. Long way to go, but it is so relaxing to do. TFL

Beautiful card, Linda, using the masking fluid. Those leaves in white are gorgeous against the w/c background. I think your calligraphy is already looking great. And, that is some super sketching of the leaves.

Great job using the liquid masking - I think I have some in my craft room that I bought for something and never used - have to search that out and play with it - a beautiful card Linda - with the stems, the great splattered background, the subtle scored edges and your lovely modern calligraphy - looks wonderful straight and perfect to me!

I love everything about this. Your sketching is exceptional, and the color is perfect. I'm impressed with your calligraphy. I took a class a short time ago and although I love the look, I just couldn't get into another time-consuming craft. Beautifully done!

Fabulous use of the masking fluid to create that leaf spray! I thought perhaps you had painted the bg and did the leaves with gouache or bleed Proof white ink - I'm not that adept at masking fluid and would never have gotten all the fine details you managed - Bravo!!

Love your card with the shading of blue achieved with water coloring. Your hand is so steady. Calligraphy is wonderful, but I'm too old to have what it takes. I'm happy to see your efforts are so successful!

Lovely card, Linda! I love the white leaves and your calligraphy is wonderful! The look of the blue area is so pretty with the masking fluid technique!

I adore this card Linda. The leaves, the background create such a beautiful, peaceful card. Also love the sentiment - maybe that calligraphy I could learn!!!
