Julie has given us a terrific whimsical site this week called MacKenzie Childs. This week our challenge from the watercolor video was using masking fluid. I need practice applying this to paintings. I took a ruler and pencil and created the squares and applied the masking fluid with a new cheap flat brush. Then using black watercolor paints applied to the background. Needed to do this twice. Using the eraser that takes off sticky glue removed the masking fluid. They are not perfect, but it was good practice. Next using a stamp and die that has been not used stamped painted and cut it out. Added the ribbon for and added detail. TFL

Beautiful card and good use of the masking fluid to do the squares. I have that pretty stamp and die cut set you used and love it.

Your background squares create such a great backdrop for your beautiful blossoms!

I've tried my kettle first with water colors but the black and white blended together in some places, that's why I've changed it for markers, good idea to use the masking fluid here, and it looks great, did you try to rub the fluid off just with your fingers? that's what i do usually but it needs to be very dry!!, Lovely flowers, beautiful card
