This week's Featured Stamper, Sherri aka happy-stamper, has a fabulous Gallery filled with so much inspiration. I saw so many products I own fashioned into beautiful, fun and creative cards. I've pinned a bunch for future reference; but for today, I didn't use any of those. I fell for this one: moody mosaic by happy-stamper at Splitcoaststampers
I don't know what this style of art is called but the stamps usually say things like "artistic", "etchings", "classic", "old world" and I love seeing it in cards and collages. I didn't have Sherri's fabulous stamp but I thought I could simulate her look with die cuts. So, I kept the diamonds; I think the style of the design on her card; the script in the bg and the blue, white and gray (silver in my case) from her card. I changed the bg, the orientation and the sentiment as well as the die cuts.
I started by partially inking the script stamp in silver. I was so happy the way that turned out that I immediately covered it up with all the other images...LOL...but seriously, the script just wasn't carrying it on its own. The images are all second-generation stamping as the ink was a bit too intense for my liking. I die cut the squares and then placed them in specific spots in the EFs and embossed. Trimmed everything in navy and silver and it's done.
Congratulations Sherri on being featured this week. Your Gallery is wonderful and I expect to return again for some more CASEing. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the cards made in your honor this week. And, I hope everyone is having an artistic day. TFL

Love this! Very crisp yet also artsy, and lots of texture and dimension from those squares. The silver and blue stamped background is beautiful. Thank you for your kind words and for doing a CASE of my card!

Artistic! You're clever when it comes to creating designs. Especially stamping BGs. The diamond EF pieces are fantastic as is the colors...

Debbie, this is super pretty. I love how you captured the feel of her card, but totally made it your own. Wonderful stamps and design. Love the blue too. Hugz

Ohhhh, Debbie, this is such a beautiful and elegant card. I was pretty sure I knew which card you had cased when I saw it. I really like the elegant colors you used and your beautifully stamped background. Beautiful texture added to your focal squares too. A beautiful birthday card!
