I have been fascinated by the mostly Korean collage journalers on YouTube who make art journal pages from carefully arranged papers and stickers. I love watching them sort through their supplies, make selections, and apply them to the pages with tweezers. Relaxing to watch and even to listen toâI have been falling asleep to the sounds of paper movement and cutting and sticker peeling and itâs delightful.
Anyway it put me in a collage mood and I had a package of stickers made from vintage St Patrickâs Day postcards so broke out my vintage look supplies and made a series of ATCs this weekend, which will be the eventual focal point of cards for my mom and sibs. Iâll share the eventual cards later but wanted to share my favorite of the ATCs so far.
Not much to tell about making them, itâs pretty straightforward. I got some extra heavy kraft cardstock from Walmart a while back, itâs actually almost like very thin chipboard so makes for a good ATC base. I cut a sheet into 3.5 x 2.5 inch cards and made collages using the postcard stickers as the central image. This card is covered with a sheet of vintage design paper, then I added a translucent vellum flower sticker, the postcard sticker, and the pearls across the bottom. I added the sealing wax sticker and clear butterfly sticker so they hung over the edge and trimmed off the extra. Finished by edging the card with a dark green marker all the way around.
I had a great time making these. Literally went into my craft room at 9 pm to turn off the lights, started playing around with the supplies laid out on my desk for later (I had cut the cards and gathered the supplies but thought I was done for the day) and 2 hours later had 6 completed cards. Had to force myself to stop and go to bed!
Thanks for looking!
