Fanny Brice was one of our greatest stars, long ago. When I was 13, I had a chance to choose a Broadway musical to see. Being 13, I chose a musical I knew, which was 'Hello Dolly' with Ginger Rogers. I wish I had chosen 'Funny Girl' but I didn't know it well and, in retrospect, it was probably a little grown up for me. But, boy, to have seen a very young Streisand....
I just listened to one of the first songs of the show, where Fanny is trying to convince producers that she should be given a chance. Such clever lyrics. I hope Annie likes this card. I used today's sketch for it. Annie has certainly 'lived her song.'
Finally, I'm including this for the ABC20 I is for Imperial Theater in NYC. The theater was built in 1923 and hosted musicals and plays. The great Mary Martin made her Broadway debut there in 1938, doing Cole Porter's Leave It to Me!
Thanks for the challenges.

Wow fabulous card for music lovers. Amazing that you got to see Hello Dolly....must have been great. My first one was Fiddler on the Roof...it started a life long love of the theater. She'll love this card.

Wow! This card is stunning. I love every little detail starting with that very cool dotted bg; working up to the glorious stamps of musical instruments; culminating in those fabulous sentiment strips -- love the words; love the fonts; love the look. Awesome card. Also love the info you provided in your write-up as well. I was a Mary Martin fan, but from her role in Peter Pan. My mom started taking me to see musicals when I turned 12. We had the nose bleed seats for the Sunday matinees and I LOVED it. I got to see Hello Dolly with both Carol Channing and Pearl Bailey and they were both sensational in the role. Thanks for bringing me such sweet memories. I'm sure this card will do the same for Annie.
