Diane is hosting our color challenge this week and she has chosen Lost Lagoon, Poppy Parade and Copper Clay with a 4th color as dessert.
I thought these colors as some you might see in a vintage children's book so I revisited the same stamp I used few weeks ago: this trio of kids playing in a box that they have made into a boat. Aside from adding Crumb Cake, a neutral, (light for skin and dark for the unpainted cardboard), I added Daffodil Delight for the little sun painted on my kiddo's imaginative boat.
I've colored up a bunch of these kids while watching TV and have been trying to come up with a quick way to use the images on cards without needing to depict the imaginary background and I think I hit upon an easy solution when I pulled out the Whimsical Stitches Dies. I think I'll be trying these borders with some other images soon.
Thank you so much for taking a peek. I sure hope that you will play along with these colors!

Chris, I agree--these colors are perfect for a coloring book image--primary colors and so bright and cheerful. I love seeing these kiddos again--they are so cute! Great card, so fun!

So cute!! The boatload of kids is adorable. What a great idea to have colored images ready to go. The whimsy die adds just the right touch. Super sweet!

This is such a cute card, Chris. I love the retro look of the image and the colors were spot on for it. The whimsical stitched die is a perfect complement to the image.

Oh, this is so fun, Chris! I love this image of kids using their imaginations and the stitched border close in on the scene does indeed finish this perfectly without additional coloring; great thinking!
