I made one of these cards for my MIL's 93rd BD. Here: Highway 93 by ruby-heartedmom at Splitcoaststampers Her caretaker saw it and wanted one for her DH. It's a lot of work, but I couldn't say no. That lady has been so good to and for our MIL.
Gathered photos and images of some of his favorite things. Put them together in a collage. Lots of faces here!
I started with 3 panels of tag board about 5.5 x 8.5. DH has bookbinding skills so I asked him to put together (hinged) and cover the panels with the BG paper I had printed out--a horizontal highway with blue skies.
The middle panel depicts winning a BBQ chicken contest, so I had fun with cartoon chickens running away.
It's not hard, there's just a lot of design work and fussy cutting and paper piecing to put it together.

Oh wow, Beverly, the recipient is going to love this and, hopefully, appreciate the work and creativity that has gone into making this! The blue sky bg is a wonderful backdrop to all the faces and I just love the chooks running amok!

What a fantastic personalized card! That background sky and road trip theme really carries the day right across the card. I love the fleeing chickens too!
