It is my pleasure to be your hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and I selected Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Granny Apple Green, with the dessert option of Sunflowers.
True confessions, I did have this set of stencils in mind when I chose the colors. I've had the set for months, and haven't gotten a chance to play with it! The Create-in-Quads sets are designed so that you use four colors with four 8-1/2 x 11 stencils. When your four layers are complete, you have four different designs, one in each quadrant of your sheet of cardstock. Most of the sets have similar designs (all flowers, for example); but with this set you end up with two sunflower designs and two butterfly designs. They are quite fun to play with, and with little effort you end up with four cards!
I selected this sunflower design, splattered with Ground Espresso DO ink, then added a thin frame of Crushed Curry. I stamped the greeting in Mustard Seed DO ink, then heat set with clear embossing powder and cut it out with the matching die. Mounted it on a Crushed Curry card base and added a few gems.
I can't wait to see what pretty cards show up in the gallery this week, and am wondering how many of them will feature sunflowers! Please join us!

Beautiful blended sunflowers! This all came together so nicely. The thin framing makes such an attractive difference and your splatters are the icing on top~

What a beautiful sunflower scene! The main bloom is SO perky looking and the lower ones add realism with the stages of partial opening. The splatters are perfect here too. Thank you for warming us up too!
