Today's Tea Party is for Jay in Massachusetts who is undergoing open heart surgery today. We are sending him cards to encourage him as he recovers. We also have the option of sending birthday cards to his daughter, Celia, who turned 18 today. Tough to celebrate your birthday while you're worried about dad's surgery. I already sent a card from my stash to Celia in the hopes that she would get it today.
Here is my card for Jay. I love Jacqueline's challenge to CASE ourselves and add something new to update it. I went browsing my gallery and decided that this card would be a fun one for Jay. How nice of me to share the details of the exact markers that I used. I was able to use those same ones again. Although my GB8 marker is pretty much out of ink. The color in this photo is much more accurate. Those are bright markers for this dog. And I love it. I obviously changed it from dog sympathy to get well by using a sentiment from my favorite get well stamp set - Doggy Kisses from Art Impressions. When I made the original card, I didn't have any fun border dies. The bottom of my old card is just a strip of washi tape stuck across the bottom. For this card, I chose a fun border die that I've never used before. When I picked it up, I realized that it kind of reminded me of a heart EKG line. So in order to emphasize that shape, I used the die to also cut a strip of black and added that. I grabbed a cheery colored card base that I already had cut and didn't want to leave it plain, so I stamped paw prints all over it. I also noticed that I rounded the corners of my old card, but I decided to round just one corner. That always reminds me of Joanne Allison (Angelnorth). I haven't seen her around in a few months. I hope she's doing well. Then I also stamped a paw print next to the sentiment to replace the punched heart on my old card. Looking at it now, I wish I had kept the heart for someone having heart surgery. LOL.

Awwwwww, this should surely make Jay smile and hopefully he will take your advice. I love that stamp set from Mo's though I haven't used it much. My only criticism is that you used Spectrum Noir and not COPICS. How can I copy if you don't use COPICS? Love everything about that fun border starting with the die cut, then the paw prints and especially the black border. Super card.
