This week our Tea Party hostess challenged us to use things that are round in our cards and to send the card to someone you haven't seen in awhile. Actually, I have never seen the Trahan's. They are a Gold Star family we did a Tea Party for back in November 2022. The family lost a son in Afghanistan in 2009 and their house with all their son's memorabilia burned in 2022. I think of them often. Their fortitude, strength, dignity and faith continue to inspire me I recently ran across a thank you card they had sent me and thought about reaching out. When I saw today's challenge, I took it as a sign to do just that.
The bg for this card was first inked on a gel plate and then again on the gelli with the leaf stencil. I then stenciled the dots and a whirlpool (which got lost someone on here) and the leaves again. The butterfly is a two piece die. I colored the bottom layer with colors from a previous color challenge (COPIC equivalent of Mango Melody and Melon Mambo) then spritzed it with the iridescent spray. I cut the top layer from black Bazzill but wanted it deeper so colored it with black COPIC marker. The sentiment was created in Excel with Roboto font. My round elements are the stenciled dots and whirlpool and if you stretch the circle a bit, the oval frame.
I hope this card makes it to them so they will know that they continue to inspire. I hope you feel inspired to play along today. TFL

Yes, the Trahan's. I got a wonderful thank you card from them as well and I had sent another one awhile ago. This is lovely with your bright colors against the green background. I am sure this will be very much appreciated!

They will be touched by your card Debbie...it's amazing to think of the teaparty recipients and how they've affected our lives. We send them cards to help them get through tough times and you don't realize it but it works both ways. Your butterfly is gorgeous.

Brilliant design/colors! The Bg is outstanding. A beauty to send some cheer to this beleaguered family. The colors of the butterfly and the die-cut butterfly are superb...

I remember the Strongs - I found my thank you card from them just recently too. They will love this and appreciate still being remembered. The butterfly is just gorgeous and looks amazing against that green multi-layered background.

First of all, Debbie, I love your card. All the beautiful details. It came out so great. Secondly, I love the personalization. And third, because I actually know the Trahans IRL, this makes my heart so happy to know that you thought of them and that you are sending them another card. They are such lovely people and will so appreciate this beauty. You are amazing, my friend.
