This week the Tea Potters are sending paper hugs and encouragement to Christine who was recently diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing chemo. She loves gardening so our hostess asked us to include gardens this week. I think Christine will end up with a beautiful paper garden to decorate her home.
So, I started down a couple different garden paths, but landed here with a new-to-me technique which uses the debossed side of the panel. Rather then repeat all the instructions, here's a link to the video that inspired me:
I do think a bigger design works best with this and I was glad I had this ef. This is a very simple and quick technique. It reminds me of the Watercolor EF but it is much much faster to make. I wanted something more colorful than the sample card, so I used Bay Breeze for the bg. I really do need to practice pad swiping. I have never been able to stay on just the tops of the embossing. This time I got ink into the debossed areas too and it changed the colors of the flowers. It still looks good, but I would have liked the brighter colors for Christine that I had before swiping.
Lawn Fawn recently introduced a new wavy die set and this one cuts the frame as well as the tag. I love that as I prefer to frame my sentiment tags. The frame is direct to paper inking with Bay Breeze as is the base frame.
I hope Christine will be enchanted in and by her paper garden. And I hope you have an enchanted day too. TFL

Phenomenal, Debbie! Already pinned and fav'd. The rich colors, the shading, and the EF create a simply stunning design. The simple headline and butterfly are an amazing finishing touch...

I like that sentiment die. And I love your butterfly. Cool to see that you've already tried that technique.i think that success in swiping pads depends a lot on the pad - the firmer ones give a cleaner look. And yet in either the video you sent me or the original she referred back to, I'm sure they were using a sponge applicator which I know I would find harder to control.
