I managed to combine the color, sketch, and ways to use it challenges in this cardâ¦On top of that, I was also inspired by the current Featured Stamper, incindiary, who has some fabulous items made from what appear to be recycled greeting cards in her gallery. I am making a separate âofficialâ card for her, but the idea sent me to a bag of scraps that included some pieces cut from old greeting cards and I came across the leaves piece, which started me off on this whole card.
I covered the front of a Dollar Tree/Hallmark blank notecard with some old patterned paper that looks like burlap, and ran a scrap of tan cardstock through a basket weave embossing folder. I cut this scrap to the same size as the leaves photo and attached both to the card front. I glued a thin gold ribbon over the ledge where the two pieces meet.
I stamped the leaf (Vintage Leaves) and sentiment (Sending Smiles) in black ink on a scrap of bright red cardstock and cut out both with dies. I attached both to the card front with foam tape and finished with two brown gem stickers bookending the greeting.
Thanks for several excellent challenges for this week!

That recycled bit of card is really very pretty, and I like the contrast between the big leaf and all the leaves in the trees above it. Fabulous texture on this card, too.

What a warm and friendly card! Love how you used the lovely tree foliage in the background and added a leaf embellishment. Great embossing also. Such a comforting card!
