A book lover here. I held out against a Kindle for many years, and then after a work colleague loaned me hers to take on holidays I asked DH to get me one for Christmas. I still prefer a real book, but it's wonderful having unlimited reading material on holidays without having to either buy secondhand books I can leave behind or dedicate space and weight to library books which need to be brought back.
This bookshelf with its wide variety of books is a fair representation of my tastes. My bedside table currently holds John leCarre, a cookery book, a book about birds and their songs, poetry, science, a daily devotional ,and travel biography. I couldn't possibly pick a favourite genre: I do really like Golden Age detective fiction, but the books I probably reread the most are Terry Pratchett's Discworld series.
I coloured my image with Polychromos pencils, added s frame cut from faux wood, and finished it off with a birthday sentiment.

I have had various different electronic readers, but I just can't give up the paper books like you. I LOVE your image and your pretty coloring. Loved reading about your love of books too. Wonderful post, my friend. Hugz

This bookcase is fabulous...I would love to take a tour of it and discover some new authors, etc. I'm with you on the e readers...I download books to my iPad sometimes...it's a convenience when away from home or the library but I do love to read the real thing. Thanks for sharing your current reads with us.

Wonderful card! I love the convenience of electronic books for traveling too. We are blessed with the library we have in our village. So lucky to have choices.

I prefer a real book in my hands too. Your bookcase is wonderful, full of interesting stuff as well as a nice assortment of books.

This image looks like my bookshelves used to look ~ before I switched mainly to Kindle after donating so much of my library before out move 4 years ago. I kept my absolute favorites but I do treasure my Kindle.
Wonderfully colored and such an inviting image for anyone who is a book lover!
