This week Mary has brought us a color palette worthy of a sumptuous banquet. Just the names of the colors make me salivate: blueberry bushel, pumpkin pie, crushed curry. But, I couldn't end my month here without adding a fairy so I turned from food to fantasy.
I colored Mo's sweet mushroom fairy with COPICS and die cut the tag. I wish the tag had been a smidge larger or the image a smidge smaller, but he was printed and colored before I decided on the frame; so, poor Pignon got the squish treatment. This was the largest tag in the set. To make the corresponding frame I used the outside of the die as a guide. I use to trace the die with a pencil but I don't have "mad" scissor skills and had difficultly following the lines. Now I dry emboss the die doing several passes through the Big Shot; flip it over and follow the grooves. Still didn't cut it perfectly but much much better than the other way for me. I colored the frame with the same blue COPIC used on the image. Ink blended the CP inks representing pumpkin pie and curry onto white card stock and then stenciled using the same inks. To fill in the spaces that looked like they needed "something", I added small flowers die cut from scraps inked with those same colors.
I have had a blast this month as one of your Guest Designers and I hope I brought you a bit of inspiration each week. I really do love this image by Mo and the versatility it has for a variety of color combos. I hope this card inspires you to look at your supplies with new and fantastical eyes. Not fantasy images per se, just a new perspective using different colors like these gorgeous hues. Enjoy your day. TFL

Debbie, your little Pignon is so cute, examining the underside of those mushrooms! I think the sizing is ideal--just a tight frame around an adorable image. Love your technique for cutting the frame; I'll have to remember that! It has been such a pleasure having your design with us this month. I've learned so much for you, and am still itching to try last week's technique!
