For Catherine's Cool and Unconventional Emboss Resist Christmas cards - FF23cdimick.
This took three tries:
Plan A, versamark, didn't work for me. If I held the finished panel up at an angle, I could kinda sorta see a shadow, but who is going to get a card and hold it at different angles to see what the heck I tried to do? LOL
Plan B, Alcohol Lift Ink. C'mon Christine. Paper is NOT a non-porus surface.
Plan C, Unicorn White Ink. I figured ya'll would sympathize and let me get by with that (I should clarify here - this is trying to salvage the lovely ink blend piece I spent quite a bit of time on already and was NOT going to go in the trash in favor of using up another valuable piece of cardstock). Better, but still not quite there so...
Plan D - I lied. More than three tries. Now I broke out an acrylic brush and some water because DING DING... distress inks -are- water reactive. Better, much better! Brighter indeed and still no embossing powder in the mix!
I then finished stamping the sentiment and inside scene, die cut the panel, popped it up, adhered it to the base, stood back, and....
It still wasn't there. So, out comes the glitter glue, which I first "spat" the contents of the glue tip in a kleenex so as to not get a bubble pop over my design, and began to fill in the star... ahh yes... looking better.
And then it happened. A bubble backed up further up the tube exploded over my star and left a nasty white glaring hole of white off the side of my star. Insert swearing. Decide to push through and perhaps glitter up the shepherd, too... only to find the rest of the glitter up the tube was caky and clumped. Pushed it around frantically with the brush I'd used earlier, then tried to scoop it off with the brush. It was too late; some still was left behind.
Took out a little sanding eraser. Attacked. Attacked too hard and noticed paper wearing awful thin. Grabbed craft tweezers and flicked off whatever remaining stuck glitter I could, then stepped back and gave up and went to the barn for evening feeding.

Wow, Chrissy, you get the medal for persistence! I'm sorry this was such a challenge but I do like the result you ended up with! This is a lovely Christmas card in beautiful colors and a wonderful reminder of the true reason for the season. Thank you for persisting and making this lovely card for my challenge.
Oh.. my .. goodness.. My heart goes out to you. But, I rather enjoy the fact that you took the time to try to make it work and tell your story. It makes me feel better for all of those times I have had to keep making adjustments. It turned out beautifully! Love your nontraditional colors.

My heart aches for you.....been in some of those situations. In the end (long time coming, huh?) your card turned out beautiful and is the reason for the season. So there...all is well. I bet things were more peaceful at the barn . lol
Anyway, at your expense, I had a laugh reading your post.
