This week's colors are so happy and tropical, but somehow my card didn't end up there. Still, we go where our muse takes us. Sadly, I cannot get my photos to show the true colors but my blue is more coastal cabana blue and the yellow is more daffodil yellow IRL
To make the bg, I first brayered each color individually on a gelli plate and pulled a print. I laid the dotted stencil on the plate and pulled a second print on the same cs. The dots only really showed up in the blue. Stenciled the leaves and then stamped a few more images. Added the hummingbird in black. Had the sentiment all perfectly lined up using a transparency first to make sure it was in the exact right spot...yeah, you guessed it...something shifted and it was in the exact wrong spot. Enter the sentiment tag framed in black and popped up. I ended up matting the entire panel in black to tie into that tag.
Such are the adventures of a card maker. I hope you will be feeling adventurous and join in the color fun this week. TFL

Oh, Debbie, this card is just so wonderful! You make me want to get out my gelli plate and play! The background is fascinating with the various patterns and colors. The black hummer is perfect, and I love how you overcame your Oops! with the matted greeting and mat around the main panel. This is really superb!

That gel print+ stenciled bg is gorgeous! I LOVE the hummingbird image (our hummers just left for their southern homes) and I think the greeting looks great with the black frame and popped up...You matched it perfectly!

Gorgeous background with the challenge colors and stamping. Lovely collage for for a supporting role allowing the hummingbird to take center stage. I see no mistakes and the colors look perfect on my monitor. Fabulous card!
