Another Featured Stamper catching up card, this one is for Tammy Aka TKfite. I saved quite a few cards from her gallery as she was inspiring me to use some of my SU sets that have not seen enough action yet. One of them was this ice cream cone card:
The ice cream cone set was also the first thing I thought of for the free for all challenge from Friday, where the theme was sprinkles. I decided I wanted to do a cone card with sprinkles on the ice cream scoops and decided to use Tammyâs card as my inspiration.
I ended up with a slightly different layout but kept her elements of the ice cream cone, the birthday sentiment, and multicolor background against blue. I also love how the pattern paper coordinates with the in colors from last year, so used those as my color scheme.
I do have to share where the fabulous colored diamond paper came from. Actually it is thin cardsboard, and it came from the teacher area of Dollar Tree, where they sell packages of strips with bright patterns on them that teachers use as edging on decorated bulletin boards. Each strip is about a foot long and I had cut them to make a series of quick cards and had the leftover short ends of each piece hanging around on my desk. So the background paper is actually two pieces of these strips side by side, with the ice cream piece covering the gap.
So I started by cutting a rectangle of Tahitian Tide cardstock and gluing the two strips in place on it. I stamped off the sepia ink before stamping the cone to lighten it, then stamped the waffle design in full strength ink. I stamped the ice cream scoops in orchid oasis, parakeet party, and sweet sorbet, then added the sprinkles in the sepia ink. Oh, I stamped off the orchid one as well because it was so dark at full strength.
I cut out the cone and ice cream pieces and glued to a rectangle of white cardstock, which I edged in sweet sorbet ink to make it stand out a bit from the background. I glued that piece onto the background and attached the whole piece to the card with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment in parakeet party and stamped the additional sentiment ââ¦with sprinkles on itâ inside the card. I used the end of a chopstick to make the dot dot dot on the front, and did the same with a bamboo skewer to make smaller ones before the sentiment inside.
Finally, I used a pen to cross out âsprinkles â on the inside sentiment and wrote in âjimmiesâ because this is going to a friend who grew up in south Jersey like me.
Thanks for your very inspiring gallery, Tammy, I hope you enjoyed your Featured Stamper week!

Great CASE. Love how you kept her graphic bg but changed it up. Your cone looks delightfully fun and yummy with the sprinkles and all those lovely flavors. And the colors coordinate beautifully with the dp. Great card.
