It took me forever to do a card for andastra, the featured stamper from several months back. Her gallery is amazing but I always struggle with making cards based on scrapbook pages. I finally chose to use this hexagon design as my inspiration:
I kept the autumnal feel, the hexagons, and the navy blue background and made my card more of a quilt, since I also wanted to make a quilt card for the techniques challenge from last week.
I cut a rectangle of navy blue cardstock that is slightly smaller than the front of my white blank card. I cut a series of hexagons using one of the hexagon dies from the SU Beautiful Shapes die set. The trees were cut from a very old piece of s.e.i. Paper Iâve hoarded far too long, and the orange and yellow pieces came from some equally old Basic Grey papers. Not sure where the wood grain paper came from. Once I cut enough hexagons,I laid them out on the blue background and glued into place. Then I read the whole piece through my Big Shot with a small hexagon embossing folder to make it look more quilted. I glued the embossed piece to the card front, I die cut the sentiment from the navy cardstock and glued to a tan rectangle cardstock scrap, then ran the edges over a Memories sepia pad to make them stand out a little more. Finally I attached the sentiment piece to the card with foam tape. Love how this turned out!
Andastra your gallery and creativity is wonderful and I hope your featured stamper week was fantastic!

You interpreted her page beautifully on your card with the hexes and the wood pieces. I especially love the hexes with the trees. Great CASE and a wonderful card.
