I started by sponging in the background. I die-cut my tree from fun foam and used it to stamp with. For my Spring tree I used two pinks and a green initially, and then went back in with some white to lighten it.
To finish the card off I trimmed it down and added the sentiment. Edged it with a gold pen which smudged slightly so I added to the distressed look by pulling out Timeless Textures and stamping in gold, blue and greens. I added a little hedgehog just because .

I am digging that idea of cutting the shape out of foam to do your stamping on the tree...interesting! Another technique I would never think of. You got a great result with the pinks! I like the whole overall look...and who doesn't want a cutie hedgehog wandering through?
