Annette has a wonderful gallery and I knew I wanted to CASE her Christmas Tree card. I just received this tree die set yesterday and had made various smooshed watercolor BG's, for the 6 layers of the tree. I hadn't realized how large the tree would be and I had to put it on a 5 x 7 card base. The ornaments were cut from various smooshed watercolor BG's and layered. I embossed a white panel with the SSS--spun glass embossing folder, then rubbed on tumbled glass distress ink, tore the edges, inked them and placed it behind the tree. I decided to ground the tree with an area rug, made with an oval mask and dusty concord ink. The star was cut from a gold splattered BG and attached. Here's her pretty card that inspired me.

What a fabulous tree die cut, all the variation in color for your tree is fabulous. Beautiful background and a lovely area rug (though I thought more of a tree skirt!).

That is a tall tree and a bunch of layers - wow. They are gorgeous too and so are your ink smooched papers you used. Stunning card and case, Sue. Another beautiful Christmas card done. Hugz

Not sure how you did it, but the colors in your smooshed bgs landed in exactly the right places for this die. What a beautiful tree and those ornaments are fabulous. Sweet bg and the "rug" added the perfect base. Wonderful card.

Thank you Sue. Your Christmas tree is beautiful. I love the variations of colour you have achieved. The background embossed layer provides a lovely highlight. Great touch with the rug under the tree.
