Diane is hosting this week with some pretty, happy colors and dessert is birthday.
I'm just back from a long weekend to Las Vegas and I feel like I'm still getting my act together. I had been working on this idea with some other colors and then thought I should try it with the challenge colors since I was already working with Birthday theme. I found out that the purple doesn't play all that well with the yellow and green balloons so I set the purple one out in front with a die, also doing something else I'd wanted to try - using the "string" from a string of lights die as a balloon string. Celebrate is a two part word die. When I cut the larger background word I put the edge of my die cut plate so that the bottom part of the word was uncut. I used an exacto knife to cut the edges. The flowers are part of the word die set, Wanted to Say.
I can't wait to see more with these happy colors!

This is one happy birthday card with the fun colors. Like how you did the purple and the use of the die for the balloon string. Thanks for sharing. Fav'd

Love it, Chris. This is so happy and festive. The balloons are amazing. Creative idea to put one balloon out front. The die-cut sentiment and flowers are terrific. Very nicely done!

You always teach me something new with your wonderful cards, Chris! This week it's the partial die-cutting on the Celebrate word. What a clever idea and so easy to transfer to almost any other greeting! Can't wait to give it a try! I love the purple balloon front and center! Great card!

What a great birthday card, Chris! I really like how you did the sentiment as an edge! Great job on the partial die cutting! The dimensional purple balloon looks great with the BG!
