I wasnât ready to go to sleep so I decided to make a few more poinsettia pieces with the black die cut leaves left over from my previous card. I ended up making a completed card.
I started with the black leaves and dug through my scraps for coordinating colors. I decided on white, silver, and some white and silver glitter papers. I cut the poinsettias from white cardstock and glued into place. I think I found a more correct arrangement this time! Then I cut the smaller flowers from silver cardstock and glued them together, then into place on the black pieces. I cut the smaller flower centers and the berries from white glitter cardstock and glued them in place. I cut the poinsettia centers, the star, and the JOY banner from silver glitter paper and glued the flower centers down.
I found a scrap of whitewashed wood panel paper that was the same size as my card front. I arranged the black die cut pieces on this paper and glued down. I added the star to the tree and layered the banner onto a slightly larger black piece for contrast, then glued it into place. I layered this piece in bro some black cardstock and attached the whole thing to a white card base. I finished with a thin strip of white glitter paper across the bottom of the card.
I love how this one turned out. Gonna have to play more with the black and white and silver combination.
