I'm your hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and I chose Polished Pink, Mossy Meadow and Metallic Gold. Wrapping up the month, the dessert option, one last time, is Christmas in July.
When I chose these colors, I definitely had pink poinsettias in mind, and I hope to see some pretty ones in the gallery this week. But when it came time to make my card, I was more in a snowman kind of mood!
This adorable image has been around for ages, but I bought the stamp only a couple of months ago, so it's new to me! I stamped Snowy on hot press watercolor paper, then watercolored his hat and scarf, and his nose. I used a VersaMark pen on the pom-pom and trim on his hat, and heat embossed with Iridescent Ice, a sparkly embossing powder.
I used my laminator to apply gold foil to the Poly-Glaze sheet and used it as a background, on top of a layer of Polished Pink and Mossy Meadow. I popped Snowy up with Dimensionals, die cut the greeting from Polished Pink and the shadows from gold foil paper, added a few gems, and it was done!
Please join us for a fun week of Christmas cards--or use these colors to make a card for any occasion you like--and post it in the gallery for us all to admire.
