For todays Mix-ability Challenge. Lydia asks us to use photo paper with another medium that reacts unexpectedly.
I watched her video posted with the challenge and followed her method.
I embossed the photo paper with a dandelion embossing folder. Then I smooshed it in 3 different DOX colors of ink that I spritzed with water - one at a time - drying in between colors and wiping over the panel each time when dry with a cloth - and miraculously it changed the chalky Dox ink into shiny!
I used Fossilized Amber first, then Gathered Twigs, then Dried Marigold (just a bit of the marigold shows as most of the photo paper was already covered by that time.
I made this into a Thanksgiving card given the colors used - even though the flower is a summer dandelion! but the image just gives a 'suggestion' of some kind of flower after all the inking!
For my other mixed media items- I copper embossed the sentiment and added enamel dots.
This was a fun technique to learn and I'm sure you'll get different results depending on the embossing folder and the colors of DOX inks you use.

Thanks for the description of the technique - I have been unable to see any videos on SCS for nearly a year, and am stuck when no written details are given. I think you must have been lucky with your photo paper, I went through four or five brands before finding one that worked for rubbing the oxidation off. I really like the woodsy earthtones you used.
