Featured Stamper Challenge honoring MariLynn. She is incredibly talented. I was inspired by this beauty. It reminded me of the Sketch Challenge this week, which inspired a one-layer approach.
I started by stamping and heat embossing a group of flowers in the left corner on watercolor paper. Then with a template, I drew a rectangle with a pencil. Using a ruler, I went over the lines on with a black Sharpie marker. MariLynn uses Bible verses on her artwork and also does Bible Journaling, which inspired me. I kept to the love theme and used I John 4:19: We love, because He first loved us. I heat embossed the verse in the center area.
I watercolor painted with ink. First, I did a wash inside the rectangle as MariLynn had done. After it dried, I painted the flowers and leaves. Using some leftover ink, I added to the center area along the edges and under the words. I admire MariLynn's use of hand-drawn lines and her whimsical style. So I doodled a little in the corners.
I'm also submitting for the Divine Design Bible Verse Challenge here on SCS.
Thank you MariLynn for sharing your wonderful artwork with us and for inspiring mine today!

Beautiful!! I love the hand doodling; the flowers and your coloring, and that bible verse speaks volumes!

Oh Diane, this is fabulous. I love the drawn frame around this card and the way you contained the "scene" inside. The flowers are so lovely and still lighthearted. The whole design is perfect with that beautiful verse. Fantastic card.
