I lost track of how many wool stockings I knit for family members - somewhere around 53. I wish they had been this simple, but each was a 9-color Intarsia of Santa sliding down into a chimney with his bag of toys - and those bricks took concentration. I used traditional construction methods, knitting in the round and finishing at the toe.
It was 40+ years of laborious love but eventually I started to just give the pattern to new parents and advised they contact a yarn shop if not interested in learning to knit. I know - Bah Humbug!
I was happy to see the Fan Club theme for July, so I had to join the fun.

Oh, wow! 40+ years and 53 stockings! I can see why you decided to retire from stockings! Your card is such a sweet nod to your gifts of love! I like the knitted-look for the background, and the stocking is so cute!

Wow! You have been a busy girl knitting all those wonderful stockings over the years. I needlepointed a few but certainly not that many. You must have made many people happy.
What a perfect stamp/s for you to own. Wonderful knitted background, also. I love your card and it is so meaningful and full of memories of what you have created.

This sweet card reflects your love of knitting. I learned as a girl but did not reach your level! I enjoyed hearing about your knitting story. Maybe I will take it up again so I can make something for a future grandchild.
