The recipient of this card lost her son several months ago to cancer. When I color, I tend to gravitate towards colored pencils. So, since this Teapot Tuesday challenge theme was "The Joy of Cardmaking," I went with colored pencils.
I had received a Tonic card kit as a prize for last year's Falliday Fest. I decided to use one of the stamp sets & coordinating dies for my images. I stamped them on vellum bristol paper, colored them, & die cut them. I added the hummingbird's eye in with a black glaze pen to make it pop.
So the whites would match, I used a panel of the same bristol for my background, & die cut a second bristol panel with the coverplate die. I glued the swirl die cut to the background, & adhered that to a white card base.
I stamped my greeting onto a strip of yellow cardstock with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink. Finally, I glued that & my images to the background. Hopefully this will bring some comfort to the recipient.
