Typically on a challenge like this, I would immediately reach for the pinks, blues & purples. But since this was an experiment, I decided to go totally organic with the brown (isn't that just for animals & dirt??) and blue. Randomly painted the colors across my taped panels and set aside to dry. It was REALLY dark and to me GROSS so while it was still damp I blotted at it with a wet paper towel lifting some of the intense color. Better . . . Stamped the spring blossom and dragonfly across all the panels so I could use it as a triptych and finished with bronze spatters. Trimmed my pieces and framed each with black cardstock. Brown will never be the first color I reach for, but I am happy enough with how this turned out.

Ooh, this is gorgeous, Linda. I do love brown with blue (a fave of mine) and your images are so pretty. What a wonderful design.

The brown gives this a vintage touch which goes well with the stamps you chose. I know what you mean about always grabbing the go to colors...it's good to break out. I think this turned out lovely.
