I came across a helpful Youtube video yesterday that demonstrated the same masking technique used by Ally in her card today. I was keen to try the technique myself and totally CASE Ally's card for inspiration.
To achieve a better flow with the background, I stamped the Lion using distress oxide Ground Espresso instead of my usual archive black. I have a ream of paper that is printed to look like real wood. I took the stencil from a prominent spot with dark bark to create a well-suited background.
To add more depth, I layered a grey polka dot cardstock. The sentiment was printed out and added to the card.
This stamp is really incredible. There is something about the detail in the Lion's eyes that draws me in.
Thank you for looking.

What a fabulous card! That lion image is incredible and I like that he is stamped in a softer color. I also like that fabulous background you created for him. Marvelous card!
