It's been a while since I was able to paint and indeed at the beginning of this project it felt like I had never held a brush before . . . . but this was fairly easy (even though "loose" isn't my style) and I did eventually fall into a natural rhythm.
I put in the veins with a fine line silver gel pen - in real life they are ethereal and barely there but the camera read them as much bolder. Sponged some milled lavender around the edges for a bit of definition.
All in all, I'm pleased with the outcome.

You should be pleased with this painting. The butterflies look so real. Love how you did the sentiments all around.

Linda, your butterflies are beautiful...especially in the lovely colors you chose to use. Love how they diminish in size as they go down the panel. Well done!

Oh it so good to see you join the challenge and do some painting. Glad the surgery was a success. Lovely painting with the soft muted colors and the sponged edging. Like the placement of the sentiment tool. Thanks so much for playing this week.
