Since I have nothing in my arsenal that comes even close to x-wing planes, I thought I'd use these dragonflies as a good representation. I stamped them on a used tea bag & colored with watercolor pencils and water brush. I spread some gesso through a stencil, let it dry, and then colored with mustard seed distress ink, but the flowers pretty much got lost in the layers. The cardboard was painted with gesso and then I dragged peeled paint distress over it. I also lightly dragged some tumbled glass distress for sky. I randomly stamped the script, and blended vintage photo over the background.
At this point, I was not at all liking what I had... the card just seemed very plain, so I added some doodling and faux brads, but still thought it needed more color. So I stamped the flowers, colored them red, and fussy cut them out. I drew stems with leaves, and added the flowers. Huge improvement.
For MMJ523, I used green and blue, texture with the cardboard, something found in the home - tea bag, and I added wink of stella on the flower centers and dragonfly wings for shine.

Melody love all of this and fav'd. The BG is gorgeous, the dragonflies made out of tea bags so creative and your flowers give it that extra pop. As for the texture...need I say more. You know I love texture. I can understand why you added your doodling and it's awesome. Thank you for playing in my MMJ challenge. Happy day and hugs.

What a beautiful background and card, Melody, and great idea to use a dragonfly for your x-wing! The pops of red for your flowers is fabulous and I loved reading the journey you took to get to this result. Lovely!

Your cards are always so lovely and this is another example. Love your dragonflies and flowers, and all the texture as well. And the doodling frames it perfectly. Lots of work went into this but wow, so worth it!!!
I still have the card you sent me, one of my favorites - I framed it, and it sits in my stamp room. So pretty! Thank you again, Melody!!
