Returned from a river cruise on the Snake and Columbia Rivers. The western part of journey had overcast skies and wet weather. In the watercolor, I tried to give the impression of overcast...not dreary, but not sunny.

Sallie, you have captured the Snake and or Columbia Rivers beautifully!! I hope you enjoyed the journey in spite of the gloomy skies. You went through some beautiful areas, land of many variations. Honestly speaking, I miss the west coast after living in the desert for 6+ years! Each has their own beauty, but I like the fog and rain and green!

It's always a treat to see your paintings. When I was first learning to paint I realized that if the sky was good in a painting, the painting worked. But, it's not easy. You create this moody sky with ease and I appreciate it so much. Lovely scene.

Beautiful little painting of an overcast day. I love the colors you chose for painting this and the reflections of the pine forest in the water ~ outstanding.
