Today's challenge was to create in Black and White with just a hint of RED and indeed the hardest part for me was trying to decide just WHERE to put that bit of red . . . . I started by punching the edge on my black panel and used the drop off as part of the design on the right hand side. Next I ran Amari Magic over my panel and stamped the PB flower in Versamark embossing with Snow white powder. I tied a white satin ribbon as a narrow border for the left hand side. Now - where to add my bit of red. . . I actually started with red sequins but just wasn't happy with the look no matter where I put them - then ran across these emerald cut gems which when turned on edge mimicked the design on the right edge - This feels more right!

This is beautiful. That Penny Black stamp looks lovely in white. I have the same stamp and have never tried it in white. Must give that a whirl sometime. The gems turned on edge are perfect red accents. Thanks for playing along this week.

Beautiful...very classy. You got a crisp flower print with the white ep...i always have trouble with little specks of white on a dark bg (even using one of those static things). Good call on the red gems..they're perfect.

This is one of my favorite color schemes to use and you made some perfect selections on stamps, patterns and the gems for that pop of red for your beautiful card!!

Classy!!! I've never thought to use those brushstroke style stamps in white on black. Love the red gems. I remember when I was about 5 or 6 my dad made me a crown. He came in one night and sat on the bed and asked me what my favourite jewel was. I said rubies. He asked me if I liked emeralds, I can't remember now but I feel he must have shown me a paste one because I said no, I liked rubies better. And when I got the crown on my birthday, it had a square-cut "ruby" in the centre.
