I was having the hardest time coming up with a Canada Day card for my challenge, even though there are lots of beautiful examples in the gallery. I was finally inspired to try and use a mosaic theme for my card while I was browsing a Creative Memories catalogue. There was a Canada Day layout that used large colour-blocks of red and white, and that reminded me I could use the mosaic approach for my card. I really, *really* wanted to use patterned red paper, but this was the ONLY PP I had that came close to fitting the bill.
The four butterflies looked lonely just by themselves, so I added some doodled flowers to make them look a little more cohesive, and emboldened them a little by tracing the outlines of the punched butterflies. Something still wasn't quite right, so I added the strip of vellum with the sentiment hand-written in brown.
This was a very difficult card for me to create, and suggestions are more than welcome. Thanks for looking!

I really like this card. I think it's neat how the shape of the butterflies' wings evokes the maple leaf. Very creative and I think the handwritten/drawn additions really make the card.
