Kim's (berlycece) VSN What's On The Menu challenge Spaghetti! also gave me a chance to add to my Christmas card stash and make a card for Ann's (annsforte3) March Christmas Card challenge, Baubles!
When I saw Kim's challenge, with her titles colored in red and green, I immediately thought "Christmas!" And then I thought of the swirls EF, and the Cherry Cobbler CS...and Picket Fence ink applied direct-to-paper on the swirls. It kind of looks like spaghetti and sauce... :-)
I wanted the baubles to hang from a branch, but didn't want to spend time die-cutting and glueing a bunch of individual branches, so the Sizzix edge dies to the rescue! I die-cut this one out of gold CS, and cut it down (they are long dies!) to use the area that looked like pine boughs. The baubles were stamped in Versamark on white CS and heat-embossed with Detail Gold EP. Then fussy-cut and popped up on the swirls panel with the thread going under the edge die-cut.
I'm ashamed to admit that I've had this SU! Tree Trimmings stamp set FORever, and this is the first time I've used it. Maybe I should "shop my stash" instead of buying any more new stamps??? Or maybe both....lol!

This is gorgeous! You are right - the background is a bit like spaghetti and sauce! heehee
I love the use of gold with burgundy. Such an elegant color palette. Thanks for playing along!
