It took me a few days after my vacation to get back into my cardmaking groove. I think I'm back. I managed a little bit of challenge catch up here by combining the IC with SC947. I also still had to make my February card for the monthly image swap. Tracie sent out these pretty poppies and when I saw the very first photo in the IC challenge, I knew just what to do with them. I colored them orange like the flowers in the picture and then went looking for the basket weave DP that I knew I had. To pull in the striped table in the photo, I watercolored stripes with Peeled Paint Distress Oxide. But I wasn't happy with the color saturation, so I went over the lines with Kuretake watercolor and I really like the depth I got in the lines. I finished off with the sentiment and dots according to the sketch, but it needed something else and those die cut sprigs of leaves were the perfect thing.
