Long ago, when I was first on SCS, someone did the faux cloisonne challenge...I fell in love. I haven't done it much since but was reminded today how much I like it. This is what I was inspired by for today's IC: https://meadowblu.com/products/loloi...39603897368627
I think it's strange that Rifle Paper Co, known for wrapping paper and cards, is designing rugs. But they are beautiful!
Items necessary for faux cloisonne are magazines, stamps, Versamark and ep. I used a couple of different magazines and catalogs because I wanted specific colors. I get AAA magazines and in there were pictures from Holland, MI tulip time (can you see the windmill at the top?) and I thought that was perfect for my inspiration and for yesterday's F4A-spring garden. This is also for Lydia's MIX yesterday-collage. When I was younger, collage to me was just cutting out pictures, comics, paper ephemera and gluing them on a poster board. Now I think anything goes for collage. I thought the technique would be perfect for that. I glued a DOx ink cleanup baby wipe onto cardstock and dry embossed it. Added a few beads and Nuvo Drops, my signature item.

You are lucky having such a great range on magazines. IAM usuy limited to DHs motorcycle ones which don't offer great colour, but I did pick up some old National Geographics to have on hand. And yes, this is a wonderful technique. I actually still have my first card I made using it, and I still really like the card. The windmill is a fun thing to look for. The babywipe idea is cool! And those are pretty beads.

I just sent a card to a friend, that I made long ago using this technique - I used a picture from a calendar - how funny that you were thinking about it at the same time! love your colorful flowers with the touch of gold! and pretty background for them too!
