DT Monday Challenge Member for Simon Says Stamp
More details on my blog Kath's Blog Everyday Life Of A Crafter
I coloured an A2 panel of Distress Watercolor card with Tumbled Glass and Speckled Egg Distress Oxide inks by smooshing the ink pads on to the craft mat on my Glass Media Mat and ran the panel through my die-cutting machine with Simon Says Minted Floral Embossing Folder. I die-cut the umbrella from Idea-ology Neutral dark brown KraftStock and Distress Watercolor card. I inked the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Perfect Plaid background with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide and stamped on to the umbrella canopy. I die-cut the spokes and handle from the Tumbed Glass coloured card, heat embossed with Salvaged Patina Embossing Glaze and assembled the umbrella with Distress Collage Medium. I attached Sizzix Adhesive Sheets to panels of Distress Watercolor card, die-cut the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Brushstroke Flowers Mini Thinlits and coloured with Distress Watercolor Pencils and a Distress Detailer Brush.
I lightly shaded the embossed background with Walnut Stain Distress Ink using a mini round blending tool, fixed the umbrella and flowers in place with Foam Squares to create dimension. I die-cut the leaves from previously coloured backgrounds and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium.
I die-cut Simon Says Script Hello shadow from Distress Black HeavyStock and the words twice from Distress Watercolor card, layered to create dimension and fixed to the umbrella with Distress Collage Medium. I fixed the panel to Distress Black Heavystock, trimmed to create a 1/8" border and fixed to a white card blank.
I added Idea-ology Specimen Remnant Rubs to the background and lightly sanded with a Distress Sanding Disk.
