When I first saw this pin I immediately thought it was a curtain of beads, only to find it was a curtain of birch trees. I kept with my initial thought and went with the bead look using the same colours of the blue background, done using the crayons and the yellow, which shows in the inspiration piece as dirt. I did the colouring first, then covered with wax paper to emboss to ensure I would not get the crayon on the folder. Die cut the sentiment using glitter foam and coloured with Tombow marker. There are further details and pictures on my blog.
Thanks for having a look.

Very cool texture here, Kia. Love the way the words pop against it too. Lovely note card. Hugz

Aren't you smart to use waxed paper against the crayon. I never would have thought of that, and I would have a mess! I love the texture, and the words are nice on the vellum.

This is really cool - both the texture and color make me think of the waterfall walls I've seen in Houston. But I can also see the beaded curtain you suggested. Impactful with just the 2 colors.

This is so cool and interesting. It reminds me of colored twine wrapped around the card front. I need to go check your blog and see how you did this technique. It is neat with the colors you chose. Super sample for the challenge. Fav'd
