For my December birthday, I got myself a cheap set of 48 watercolors so I could try to play along more with the Watercolor Wednesday challenges. I finally got a chance to stop and play!
Okay, I watched the tutorial and since I didn't have paint in tubes, my lines dried pretty quickly and didn't react much to spraying with water. So I kept playing around with it and using a wet brush to move the colors around. And like most of you, it didn't really turn out as I'd expected or hoped.
BUT, I turned it into more of a mixed media project. I brought out several colors of Distress Oxide ink sprays and did some spritzing and then drying with a heat gun in between each. I also used a little of the Distress Spray Tarnished Brass to add a metallic touch in the middle. Finally I swiped the watercolor panel edges with Versamark ink, dipped them in platinum embossing powder, and set it with the heat gun. I think I like the final result. It made a nice panel to adhere to a cream card base and turn into a simple Thinking Of You card. TFL!
