Sketch Challenge 945 hosted by Chrissy
with the bonus to be inspired by a horse's walking gait
The last time I was on a horse was during a family vacation in Lake Tahoe. Our two daughters and I went on a horseback ride in the beautiful landscape. The horses walked steadily and calmly down the well-worn path. It was very relaxing and peaceful. I wanted my card to reflect that experience. I used paper with a pattern of flowers and foliage because at the slow pace of the horses walk, we had time to admire the natural surroundings.
The paper guided my color choices. For the fourth overlapping panel, I used Crushed Curry plaid to represent the sunny day. For the card base I used Soft Suede like the color of the horses we rode. I heat embossed the sentiment in white and die-cut with a curvy banner like the sketch. I used Thank You for I am grateful for the WALK down memory lane today!
Creative sketch and fun bonus inspiration. Had fun with it. Thanks Chrissy!

Great way to capture your lovely horse ride with your daughters! The flower DP is very festive and spring-like something us folks buried in winter are pining for!

Oh Diane - THANK YOU for taking us on a WALK down memory lane with you today! I loved learning where the full inspiration for this card came from, and I can picture what a beautiful day that must have been! Also beautiful: YOUR CARD! Truly a delight, and sure to warm the heart of whomever the recipient will be!
