I am not happy with my watercoloring this week. It's amazing how one week I can paint my favorite painting ever and the next I'm back to painting like a third grader. This one ended up a blobby mess. I think part of my downfall was trying to combine with the color challenge. When I mixed the colors to approximate the color challenge colors, I ended up watering them down too much and so my painting doesn't have enough color or detail. So I just stamped a big sentiment across the worst parts of my scene and assembled it into a card. I showed a friend and she liked it, so I guess it can't be that bad. She's sending it to her friend who just lost her dad.

I really don't know what could be bad about your card. The watercoloring looks great and the mountains look so real. Great job!!!

I love it. Yours is actually inspiring me to try it. I love how you have the sentiment over top with the embossed earthy toned piece in the BG. Also love your distressed edges.

I think that's the nature of watercolor....I know I need to paint more often than once a week to get any degree of competence. I think it says a lot that a friend liked it and wants to mail it.

I see no blobby mess - all I see is beauty. Wow. This is a FABULOUS sympathy card, Jen. Makes me want to case it! Hugz
