This month I have been trying to use up this paper stack. I used the non-Valentine patterns to make a bunch of birthday cards. Doing that and other previous projects have left me with lots of scraps.
Now I am making Valentine cards for Seniors. The challenge was so timely. Loved the video. Thanks Lyn! I want to try each method of using DSP scraps.
For these two cards, I used the idea that the designer on the video called the Cardstock Blocking. As she suggested, I used paper all from one pack. For the left one with the wider strips, I did use a die set with a shadow space and a word die. The shadow cut out fine, but I could not get the word to cut clean and be useable. So I replaced the cut out and used a die-cut sentiment panel over the space. On the card with the thinner strips, I popped up a sentiment. I want to try the die-cut word idea when I figure out which one will work best.
In the meantime, I have two more cards for the Seniors and more scraps used up. TFL

Fabulous! The large stripes with white die-cut is dressy and the one with the narrow stripes has an old fashion feel. Love both of these beauties...
