For the last challenge of 2022 we are doing a technique called dry brushing. Here is the video -
I watched and practiced the dry brushing technique on cheap watercolor paper before doing my painting. It takes a light touch and a fairly dry brush to do this technique. It works well for grasses. I did use the masking fluid. It works well. You surely can do the technique without masking. Hope you can come and join us and show us your creation. TFL

Linda, this is stunning. I love your grasses and those beautiful, purple flowers. I see we both made a sympathy card. I thought the grasses and flowers were perfect for that kind of card. I really like the shading around your card.

I Love your color palette, Linda. Such a Beautiful painting with lovely purple blooms following the direction of the breeze on a warm summer day. I can almost feel it. Pretty light touch with the splatters. A real Beauty~

Just Beautiful - I really like how you kept the focal point controlled to some smaller clumps of grass (mine grew and grew till it spread over the whole card front.) Those purple flowers make quite a statement and put me in mind of some of the purple thistles that grew in our cow pasture years ago. The feathery edges mimic the daintiness of the grass fronds.
