This is for today's sketch (thanks, Lisa) and yesterday's tea party for Kristine, Jeremy's wife. It was kind of a relief to create something non-Christmas. I don't like to work ahead on Christmas cards but once I get on a roll in the fall, I can't stop. I had bought these 'through the clouds' stencils this fall because I thought they could work for things other than clouds. Today's sketch was a good one to try them. I used every purplish DOx ink there is, as Kristine likes purple and green together. I also thought that a sun after the rain theme was perfect so I splattered with some water. I meant to add some other medium since we're supposed to do mixed media....oops. I'll add something right now. Maybe....Nuvo Drops!?

Great stencil and I love the bright happy purple. I wish I could hold off on doing Christmas cards but sadly I have to make a few every month to have them ready to mail when my son is home from school so he can sign them all. Thankfully while there is so much inspiration it is easy to get ahead right now and then in the summer they will slow down.

I have a lot of winter family birthdays so I get a break from Christmas cards. Love your 'opening in the sky look. I can really feel the sun about to peek through. The purples are lovely too!

Your stencil creates a beautiful and interesting background and I love the colors. Great take on the sketch. The gold leaves are gorgeous and so apropos paired with that beautiful sentiment. Nature and sun -- both healing and comforting. Sure to encourage Kristine. Beautiful card.
